Where is God in the midst of Covid-19?

As the death toll increase, my heart aches increasingly each day. They aren't just numbers, but they are a mother, a father, a brother, a sister, a child to someone. I have many unanswered questions. Why did God allow them to die? Why did God not heal the land when He is almighty God? I am not angry at God; I am upset at the situation. I have no answer to date, but I cannot deny the presence of God each day at home. Even when my family is all locked up at home due to our Stay Home Notice, God remains faithful. He is omnipresent. I'm so thankful for His Shalom peace, the peace that surpasses all understanding that guards our heart. In the midst of the chaos, He is my tower of refuge. He is not deaf; He hear my cries, even the silent ones. He knows my brokenness. There are many uncertainties, but I know He is a faithful God. He is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow. My income have been drastically affected, but my future remains in Him. Circumstances may have ...

Choose Who You Want To Be During Covid.

Let's us take ownership of what we share on social media, especially during this time. It's a good opportunity for us to learn and grow together, to encourage our fellow brethren. When fear is the compass of our life, our attention centers on the current situation and on ourselves. But when we choose to learn and grow together, we can then adapt to the new lifestyle and still enjoy living in the moment to the fullest. We have a choice to take this opportunity to enjoy stay ing home or be upset about our plans being disrupted. When we are at the growing stage, we will also start to see others, and to support each other through this difficult season. Seasons don't last, but the lessons we'll learnt will last a lifetime. # staystrongtogether # togetherwecan

Where is God when it Hurts?

"Simply follow Jesus through the Gospels and watch his response to a widow who lost her only son, or even a Roman soldier whose servant has fallen ill. Never does he blame the victim or philosophise about the cause. Always, without exception, He responds with compassion, comfort, and healing. Christians believe that Jesus is, as Colossians tells us, “the exact likeness of the unseen God” (Colossians 1:15, TLB). Jesus’ followers are God’s designated agents of comfort and help, ... the literal “Body of Christ”. If you want to know how God feels about people who are suffering, look at Jesus. God is on their side. Jesus knew suffering up close, as a willing victim of our planet’s brokenness. And when He ascended, He sent his followers into the world “as the Father has sent me”, to be God’s agents of comfort and healing. In a lovely phrase, the apostle Paul refers to the God of all comfort, “who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble wi...

Snippets of our Stay Home Notice

My family is currently serving SHN & we fully support this government measure. We chose to go ahead with our recent trip as the situation of SG & the place we were visiting was rather calm then. However, things unexpectedly deteriorated quickly in SG while we were away. It was a good decision & rightful of SG government to impose SHN to protect its residents. QO/SHN/LOA is a measure my family & anyone affected must strictly adhere to. Unfortunately, our SHN had inconvenient ... others (eg ICA officers, school admin). The least we can do is to fully cooperate & make their work as easy as possible. When the sms are sent for an update of our locations, we try to respond fast to cut down the extra work to call us if we didn't respond within an hour. For grocery & food deliveries, we got the delivery guys to drop the bags at our doorsteps without contact to play safe. Everyday, we'll take our girls' temperature & update their school via a go...

Goodbye 2018!

Coming to the end of the year, the best gift I had was a glimpse of God's faithfulness and love for our family 💖 The last 2 months were challenging and hectic. It was a very crucial time in my work. I need to hit the target for Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) by end Dec 🎯 101% focus is required in this last lap 🏃🏻‍♀️ But it was also the girls' school holidays, and we had lined up travel plans half a year ago ✈ I have their 2019 school stuffs to settle. We'd made grand plans of spending time together 👩‍👧‍👧 And serving in the church camp falls in this season. Unexpectedly, James had to travel extensively for work during this period. Each time he travels, we wouldn't know when he would be back. Even then, on the very day he's due to be back, things can always change & he'll need to extend his stay there. And each trip was usually 2-3 weeks long. Then the girls fell sick, with high fever. I didn't just had commitments to meet, they w...

Christmas is about family too 💖🎄🎁

Christmas Day 🎄 was spent at Aunt Stella house with the cousins. Always thankful how Aunt Stella is always generous in her love towards her nephews and their family 💖

MidWinter Green, Khao Yai

MidWinter Green is one of the most popular restaurants in Khao Yai, and it is understandably so once you experience it yourself. The outer building looks charming and mysterious like a typical European castle, and it looks like it has many stories to tell. The interior is tastefully renovated and clothed in grandeur. The outdoor dining area is very spacious, overlooking the magnificent view of mountains behind the green fields. MidWinter Green is also a nice spot for sunset. The sky changes color to a beautiful hue of purple and pink as the sun begins to set. Do take note the sun starts to set about 545pm in December when we were there, and it gets dark pretty fast after that. The live band that starts at 630pm was good, and the light show at 8pm reminded me of the ones I saw at Universal Studios Sentosa. There are some lovely spots scattered around the compound that are so insta-friendly for the insta-lovers. Wha...
